The Streaming Project
My name is Tyler Miller and I'm just a normal guy who wants to help people out. I've been making videos for YouTube for over 2 years and have uploaded 500 total videos to my various channels. I want to take the passion I have for YouTube and gaming and turn it into something where I can give back.
This is where the Streaming Project comes in.
I want to raise money so we can buy equipment and software so we can live stream games online for days at a time (kind of like a marathon) and raise money while doing so and give said money to a charity.
The stream will happen relatively shortly after this funding project is over. It will be streamed live over on twitch.tv/playerselectgaming
I've been wanting to do a stream for charity for a very long time and now is a good as time as ever, but I need help. This is where you guys come in.
What we Need
Myself and others have estimated that $1500 will be a good amount to get to buy the equipment neccessary. We will need to be buying capture cards, controllers, cables, extension cables, usb cables, webcams, converters, splitters, games, software, and of course food to feed those who are helping out with the stream.
We also want to possibly buy some gift cards and give them away throughout the stream as well.
Any money that we receive and do not use for The Streaming Project will be forwarded to the charity we choose for the actual stream itself.
Why is it Important?
Giving is important. Whether it is your time, energy, or money, we should all try to give to others in ways that we can. As a group, we want to get together, play some games, have a good time, and raise money for a charity. The charities we choose will be inspected to make sure they use money wisely and we will put a lot of thought and prepartion into our decisions.
We just want to help make the world a better place and we want you to be part of it.
By choosing to help fund our intial stream you can be sure that your money will be put to good use and be used for the benefit of others less fortunate than ourselves.
Other Ways You Can Help
Say you want to help, but you can't exactly donate money because you don't have a job, are too young, etc. Well there are plenty of other ways to help spread the word of our cause!
Share this campaign! Share it with friends and family. If they don't understand what "gaming for charity is" go ahead and explain it to them and maybe show them some videos of Zeldathon or Mario Marathon so they can get an idea of what it's like.
