The streets of ever-busy Delhi can be a ruthless place. According to Delhi Traffic Police, 1,562 fatal road accidents were reported in the city in 2018. It was one such accident, nearly 40-years ago
that gave this city a hero that it desperately needed. Since that fateful day whenever the 76-year-old Harjinder Singh comes across a road accident, he follows a set of self-ascribed rules. Harjinder's auto-ambulance looks like thousands of other green and yellow autorickshaws that ply the roads of Delhi, but you need to look closer.
