This Is Why Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 FAILED

Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 was a very strange game. Those who played it upon release know exactly what I’m talking about, and thinking back on it now, it feels insane to me that it was even released. I loved Final Fantasy XI and was very excited about the prospect of an updated version of it - I even considered XIV to essentially be XI 2.0. That’s also what I believe the original devs felt - but was it their demise? In fact, the game was so broken that they didn’t even charge a subscription fee for months! Let’s look at what went wrong, and why it went wrong.
