After getting blown out of the forest by some strong winds, Torneko learns not to mess with shopkeepers and then decides to revisit some old dungeons to refresh his memory on which items can be found where. Most of this playthrough is grinding for money, trying to find good stuff for sale, and melding Torneko's sword and shield. This helps immensely. We also finally make it into the Magic Dungeon where a Mystifier waits to administer death. This is when I realized it was time to do some fairly heavy grinding/melding so that this doesn't happen again. Some highlights:

4 minutes - I threw a rolled up piece of paper at the shopkeeper. This results in death.

2 hours, 59 minutes, 50 seconds - Somehow I was surprised by a mimic here and then all of the items I laid down to sell became for sale by the shopkeeper! I was robbed!

3 hours, 39 minutes - I was mystified here. Too bad.
