Trainz Mohawk Test Video 2
Here's the result of advice given by RPearson on the Auran forums. As it happens, I didn't entirely understand what he was trying to tell me, but when I attempted a slight reduction in the locomotive's horsepower, it counter-intuitively made it more powerful by allowing it more grip. When I did this run on the New York & Harlem (the built-in version within Trainz), it ran even better than in my earlier runs on the test track seen earlier. It may not be perfect, but at this point it is at least very usable. Thank you to everyone for helping me debug it! Incidentally, if Bill Klene is reading this, get back to me here or on the Auran forums in case you want to release a new version of the Mohawk. For the moment, this mod is just for me. I don't know if the problems I encountered are universal to all versions of Trainz.
