In today’s video I’ll be playing the upcoming real time strategy, naval combat game in the age of dreadnought, Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts, an upcoming real time strategy game by Game Labs, while reviewing Leo Marriot’s book, Treaty Cruisers: The First International Warship Building Competition.
Treaty Cruisers is an interesting look at the arms building competition that occurred between the First and Second World Wars and took place under the limitations of the Washington Naval Treaty and the London Naval Treaty. These treaties put down restrictions on the size, and armament of warships, for the first time in history and ushered in an arms building competition the likes of which the world had not seen to that point, one with limits. This book aims to investigate this competition and compare the various designs, determining whose was the most effective, all while providing a brief overview of the ships designed, and their performance in the Second World War.
