Turok 2 Remastered Any% Speedrun Tutorial - Part 5 Hive of the Mantids
15Hi everyone, welcome to my Any% Speedrunning Tutorial for Turok 2: Seeds of Evil EX (Remastered version by Night Dive Studios.)
In this part, I cover Hive of the Mantids. The first half of this video is commentated and will show you the route as well as how the tricks are done. The second half is a demonstration of what a decent Hive of the Mantids segment should look like in a run.
If you are a beginner, please don't worry about being super stingy with explosive shells. Your main concern should be to get through the level and learning the route. It's a difficult level because it all looks the same and it can be easy to get lost, just like Lair.
For advanced players, you need to ensure that you enter the ammo respawning section with around 4-5 explosive shells without lacking ammo in any other weapon. The video will demonstrate this, but if you don't do this, you cannot guarantee enough explosive shells to both get supercycle and the quick generator room. If you are below 8 explosive shells approaching the supercycle, I'd consider doing it the normal way to get a quick generator.
