Twisted Metal 3 (Playstation) Twisted Metal Difficulty Playthrough With Thumper
01:07:55 FINAL BOSS GOES IN THE HOLE
Scroll down for my final stage strategy. For this game I dont have an accurate completion time since I spent around 2 hours just trying to get the passwords to work on the defective emulator. The emulator did not run this game properly and the stage passwords almost never worked. Meaning I would have to beat the game on the 2 or 3 lives provided or not at all. Part way through the video you will see the visuals change to a very sharp filtered look. Thats when I finally switched emulators and the passwords started to work. Final time was around 3 to 3 1/2 hours but wouldve been alot less if the passwords worked.
Attempts where all lives were exhausted were edited out. This only shows the attempts where a stage was completed.
Probably wont do a commentary tutorial for this game as there isnt much to explain, except for the final stage and boss. For the final stage you have to shoot out 5 switches to stop the enemies from infinitely respawning, then kill the final boss. The first 4 switches are on the lower floor and have to be done first, before the 5th switch can be shot out. It has lazers guarding it until the 4 switches are shot out. One of the 4 switches on the bottom floor is through a breakable wall with some text on it. Youll see it in my video. The others are pretty easy to spot. Once those are shot out go up to the top floor and shoot the switch at the beginning spawn point. Ignore the enemies until the switches are dealt with since they will keep respawning and they mostly kill eachother, so its easy to finish them after the switches. Once thats done I camped out by the death pit on the bottom floor. Using Thumper I froze the final boss, made a quick turn to face him and then pushed him into the pit with the special move. Thumper handles decently and would reccomend him for the playthrough. He also makes the final boss much easier with that tactic. I got that trick from a speed run video.
This game is not as bad as I remember and is a decent car combat game. For a Twisted Metal game its bad though. Very generic level design. The story presentation is also shitty. It turns out this was the only entry I never completed of the series.
Stay tuned !!
