Why is this interesting you may ask. Listen to it closely and you may notice that when the Lost D-TYPE Critical 2 variation is slowed-down fifty percent, even seventy-five percent it will sound like a completely different song as opposed to other critical versions. From what i gather this... what sounds like a distinct hybrid of the unused Korobeiniki theme. I'm guessing Nintendo wasn't fully decided on what song to use for what they ultimately scrapped as the D-TYPE music.

Did Nintendo compose this first and where they too lazy to replace it with a more fitting critical 2 theme? Why did Nintendo cut out the D-TYPE song altogether? What was the menu D-TYPE version going to be, Korobeiniki? Doubtful any of these answer will arise. Yet another interesting piece of Tetris history.
