Vlogging Day: 0350 (06/01/23)

In 2011 Valley Forge National Historical Park purchased new paving stones from a nearby quarry to spruce up one of their popular hiking trails, but little did they know the stones held a secret. In 2017 Tom Stack, a volunteer at the park with a background in geology and paleontology, recognized the sandstone rocks as ones to usually contain fossils. After a bit of investigating, he discovered a number of 210 million year old footprints thought the trail. Today the fossils still remain in place with hundreds of hikers walking over them daily, but the park prefers to not disclose their location in hopes of deterring theft or vandalism. As such, I cannot be certain that I located the actual fossils today, but searching for them was half the fun.
