The Pokémon series has been steadily improving over the years, each generation bringing about new mechanics, new graphics etc… Finally, with generation 7, the focus has been on telling a good story. Just like the most successful video game narratives, the story is focused on a singular non-playable character whom we interact with: Lillie. Over the course of the game, we witness Lillie evolve (pun intended) from a shy pacifist who can't even watch Pokémon battles to a confident young lady who will do whatever it takes to fix her family.

Keeping up with the tradition of designing Pokémon games based on real-life geography, this latest region is based on the islands of Hawaii and features regional variants; Pokémon that we've seen before but with a completely different type combinations.
