8This is more about what Super Mario 3 means to Alyse than it is about the history of the game. This is more of what I wanted from a book from Boss Fight Books. Reading about the history of these games is nice, but when the author shares their experiences with the game and what it means to them makes the book much better.
Alyse does add some of the history of the game and share some of the marketing like talking about the Wizard. This was basically a commercial for Nintendo disguised as a movie. I do like her bringing up Gail Tilden saying the NES crushed the Sega Master System, but Gail seems to forget the Atari 7800 which kind of shows how little it mattered to Nintendo.
