Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate (PS4) - wallzipping
12In certain circumstances your characters can "zip" up walls. Some more info follows:
- It seems this glitch can only happen at specific points of level geometry. Various types of seams and intersections of collision seem to be the best places to start zipping.
- This glitch only seems to happen if you are facing the wall and then jump and do an air attack at a very quick succession. Perhaps the glitch happens because of your positive air momentum? It's hard to say.
- The trick is either very precise or luck-reliant. In any case, it seems your chance of success significantly improves if you use a character like Zhang He who is able to buff their own speed. Agility on your weapon might also make a difference. (The more, the better?)
- You get more height depending on how long animation the air attack has. If the animation is short or ends in the character returning back to ground level, it's not worth using for this purpose. This means that certain characters with an unlucky selection of air moves can't do significant wallzips.
- Using air specials for doing the zip is recommended because you can then switch characters in air afterwards and chain the wallzip into a longer infinite jump.
- Wallzipping is generally inconsistent to do even in the best case scenario. This limits its usefulness as a speedrun tactic in any% categories, but it's proven handy in individual level runs.
