WB Montreal – Report on Canceled Projects
An anonymous user on ‘4channel’ went ahead and leaked online several concept art images of WB Montreal’s Arkham Knight sequel. This game was first discovered in a promotional video posted on WB Games’ Facebook page back in 2016, and came close to official announcement at the VGA of that year. However, it was pushed back due to “shake-ups” at Montreal.
We’ve never had enough reliable evidence as to what it was all about until now.
The game was a reboot, but a direct sequel set a decade after the events of Arkham Knight, and was gonna include:
- Batbike (Batcycle)
- Damian Wayne as Batman (red eyes & bat symbol)
- Rundown Gotham
- Two-Face as The Judge
- Gorilla Grodd
- Flamingo
- Female Black Mask
- White Rabbit
- The Penguin
- Older Dick Grayson
- Very old Bruce Wayne
- Nemesis system from Monolith games
The game, codenamed ‘Project Sabbath’, was rebooted into a new Batman game in 2017, which
might, or might not take assets from it.
Prior to this were other two cancellations: a Suicide Squad game, and a Superman game that didn’t go past early concepts in development.
In other news, the same user who leaked the concept arts has also stated that Rocksteady
Studios’ upcoming game is a “superhero creation game”.
So far, not much else can be reported about these projects. Be sure to follow The Arkham
Channel for more news videos, and special gameplay videos coming by the end of the month.
