What happens if you beat Super Mario Bros. in the Nintendo World Championships 1990?
In the Nintendo World Championships 1990 you are supposed to collect 50 coins in Super Mario Bros. before moving on to Round 2 where you play Rad Racer, but what happens if your ignore the challenge and aim to beat 8-4 instead? In this video we put that question to the test!
The official play time allowed during the original NWC 1990 competition was 6 minutes and 21 seconds, although by changing the position of the switches on the front of the cartridge we are able to bump our available time up to a whopping 9 minutes and 46 seconds. With this we should have plenty of time to beat the game as well as experience any side effects that clearing a game which was never meant to be cleared may entail. Will the game break and glitch into oblivion? Will the score counter break, allowing us to achieve the all time highest score ever achieved in the Nintendo World Championships? Will Thor Aackerlund, the winner of the Nintendo World Championships, suddenly how up at my door with a trophy congratulating me on my incredible achievement? Does anyone actually read the descriptions for videos? Watch and find out!
The Angry Video Game Nerd and Pat the NES Punk act like they know all about the Nintendo World Championships, but I bet they've never challenged it in this way before! Rather than smashing rare cartridges, watch as I smash all expectations by playing through SMB at world record speed, achieving a sub 4:55 time! Or so I would like to say, but I don't got no time to train for that.
So if you've for some reason read down this far, thank you for your time! I greatly appreciate your support, and it means a lot that you would take time from your busy day to watch my videos. I may not be the AVGN or Jontron, but I hope you have fun and enjoy all the same! While possibly even learning something new in the process!
