Fastest way to GS 500
Guide
This method is going to be the most effective with friends sharing upgrades to get everyone’s gear score up together. I also chose not to open our clans reward chest or do any mission content that guarantees a green set drop without being at 500 GS or above. In all the activities we did Dark Zone was the clear winner for getting new pieces of upgraded gear the quickest. We had lobbies where we would lose a complete extraction rope full of loot. Yet we still sky rocketed thru the levels. It seems if you do the occupied DZ multiple green set pieces and the exotic heavy machine gun Pestilence drop quite frequently. Some of these drops will drop directly in your inventory and not need to be extracted. Another added bonus is once you hit 50 in the Dark zone you will get DZ Caches. This also sends your GS way up. Although it isn’t necessary as I only hit 50 towards the end of the night.
Here’s some other stuff we tried before the DZ.
Level 1 control points - Guaranteed 3-5 pieces of gear at the end plus drops during the encounter. NPCs dropped occasional upgrades. 1-2 people 5-7 mins a control point.
Opening Chests underground and keyed boxes. While the world armor and gun crates did occasionally drop upgrades they’re too spread out. We tried a True Son loot box run which resulted in only guns. One of the factions drops only armor, but it was agreed the armor would be better served at Max GS.
Missions on normal took 27 minutes on the first one and only produced a few items per person in a three man group that were usable.
