Wild Arms (1996, PS1/PSX Gameplay 2020)
Wild Arms (or Wild ARMs) is a 2D/3D Jrpg series, released in 1996. This first game was developed by Media.Vision, and produced by Sony Computer Entertainment. This game was solely responsible for spawning an entire franchise of Mangas, an Anime, a few Albums, with a TON of games to follow also.
This game is a classic and just brilliant, it certainly reaches within my top 10 favorite PS1/PSX rpg list for sure.
The game's graphics look a little fuzzy these days BUT looking past that you will see this as a Jrpg masterpiece. The Animated beginning scenes are brilliant, the characters and their each individual personas and quirks make you really become invested in each of the character's story within the game.
The game's music as absolutely brilliant, one of my favorites as game OSTs go. The tune played during the opening anime scenes stuck with me right through school. I often found myself whistling the tune to myself, friends kept asking me what the tune was, and I told them off this game, they went and bought it, ha! ha!
The game's battles leave little to the imagination these days but thinking back in 1996 these graphics were AMAZING! playing this game this day and age.. once you get over the initial shock of how it looks you soon enough realize the battles are fun, especially when you get higher levels and learn new skills and spells.
This game DID receive a remake for the PS2/Playstation 2, Wild Arms: Alter Code F. Whilst all the original version's areas and locations are in the remake they are presented in this one as full 3D, the story was added onto, the OST was re-recorded and extra stuff was added into the game such as battle mechanics from Wild Arms 3.
SO! would I recommend this game now? ABSOLUTELY YES! i'm not gonna bother trying to hype this game up even more, just go play it now, it reall is a classic.
