Wolfenstein: Youngblood | The Refund Race
we play games for about an hour to decide if we like them
----------------------------------------
This game came out the day before we started playing. As early reviews came in, we weren't sure if we wanted to keep the game, so we decided to give it one hour (and a bit) to see how it is.
Things we found:
You can't invite people to your game if their steam profile is on private, and they can't invite you.
The mouse sensitivity in the engine is weird. You'd think the sensitivity setting was a multiplier for your windows sensitivity, but you can set it to 0, which should mean you can't move at all. We couldn't figure out how it works. I had to change my DPI to get a comfortable sensitivity.
The game plays like a standard co-op shooter, so turning up the difficulty doesn't really do anything other than turn enemies into bullet sponges and increase their damage. The AI is bad. On the hardest difficulty, they either don't shoot you at all, or instantly kill from across the map.
They tried to add a system where you can only damage certain enemies with specific weapon types. The obvious intention is to encourage switching weapons often, but it's not very fun to learn and once you have it figured out, it's just annoying.
