YS I Chronicles+ Playthrough - EP15: Dark Fact (FINAL BOSS) & Ending
3Uh, yeah. Quite anti-climactic with the long break but I found out I was missing just this one final episode. Welp.
Dark "Effing" Fact. The final boss of the first YS. There is not much of a strategy to talk about so in that regard it is a letdown. It actually is not a good battle or a well designed one. Shame. Notoriously luck based.
First, you do not stand a chance without the Silver equipment. You have to equip it even if it lowers your stats. Against Dark Fact you actually get a hidden boost. In other gear you take extra damage and with anything else other than the Silver Sword you barely dent his cloak. I do not know if the Blue Crystal is needed but it is needed to open the door before the fight. Otherwise you die, I think.
As for the battle itself... Yeah. A total chaotic mess. Dark Fact moves and bounces around the arena shooting fast moving fireballs that explode into more fireballs. You will take damage. Constant damage. You have to deplete his HP sooner than he obliterates yours.
That is not it though. The floor is the true enemy. Each hit on Dark Fact produces a hole in the floor approximately in the spot where you hit him. If you are standing there, it is immediate game over. Yes. That is the real problem here. Otherwise, you might get stuck on some island helplessly dying or you simply run out of room.
There are two major tricks here. First, you have to hit him closer to the edges of the arena. You have to plan to take as much of his HP as possible before you start damaging him wherever else. Second, you have to try and "chain" your attacks by sticking to him like glue. This way, you can score a few hits for just one or two holes and save valuable space!
And no... You DO NOT pay attention to ANYTHING else. The fireballs? Forget about them. You only follow Dark Fact and intercept his movements the best way you can.
Ironically enough, the nature of this battle when successfully done makes it look easy and accomplished in a minute but in reality I stopped counting. I ALWAYS stop counting attempts at this boss :(
