All New MINI COOPER electric 2024 - Visual REVIEW Overview, exterior, Interior
The iconic British brand embraces battery power with its latest city car. We get behind the wheel to see if the fun factor remains.\nIt's hard to think of a car more quintessentially British than the Mini. This cheeky little runabout with its cheerful styling and playful driving dynamics has been putting smiles on drivers' faces for over 60 years. But the automotive world is changing, and to remain relevant, even the most iconic nameplates must adapt. Insert the all-new, fully electric Mini Cooper EV.
\nAt a glance, the latest Mini EV looks properly mini, retaining that familiar two-box silhouette with minimal overhangs. The design is modern yet unmistakably Mini, with styling cues like the rounded headlights, upright windshield, and contrasting roof paying tribute to its heritage. Up close, unique touches like flush door handles and Union Jack taillights remind you this isn't a typical gas-powered Mini.
\nThe interior is where the EV reveals its futuristic leanings. The cabin centers around a massive 9.4-inch circular display housing most functions including the digital instrument cluster. While a nostalgic nod to the original 1959 Mini, executed with cutting-edge tech like an OLED screen, this unorthodox layout takes some getting used to. Material quality is excellent though, with the textured dashboard upholstery providing a premium ambiance.
\nSlipping behind the wheel, the driving position feels appropriately Mini – upright and space-efficient. Rear accommodations are predictably tight, though the 200-liter cargo area is about average for the segment. The electric powertrain is a gem, with 184 hp providing zippy acceleration complemented by the torquey nature of the electric motor. Even the base model can hit 60 mph in around 7 seconds.\nWhere the Mini EV disappoints is in driving range. The 41 kWh battery is rated for just 190 miles, putting it behind rivals like the Chevy Bolt EV and Hyundai Kona Electric. DC fast charging can replenish from 10-80% in under 30 minutes, though finding a compatible charging station could prove challenging in urban areas where the Mini EV feels most at home.
\nThe all-new Mini Cooper Electric carries a starting price of $30,000, which is competitive for a premium EV of this size. Style and performance remain strengths, but the limited range could be a deal-breaker for some buyers. If you don't mind frequent pit stops, the 2024 Mini EV serves up electric fun in a smartly package – a proper sendoff for the gas-powered icon.\n\n#MiniCooperElectric2024\n#MiniCooperElectric\n#MiniCooperElectricfirstlook\n#MiniCooperElectric2024exterior\n#MiniCooperElectric2024interior\n#MiniCooperElectricwalkaround\n#MiniCooperElectricdetails\n#MiniCooperElectricnew\n\n➡️ Discover all new cars before anyone else!
