Aric Rex managed to squeak by in our big battle alongside WinSlaya vs Zombie last session, but the economic damage to WinSlaya's faction is palpable. Zombie managed to peel off our teammate's second city and release it as a Free City (though we did manage to clear off its defenders between turns), and WinSlaya's capital was under siege for enough turns that if Garacian *has* a big enough army to threaten us, I'm not confident we can thwart an attack from the north. Fortunately, though, our economy is really starting to go into overdrive.
Aric's combination of Great Builders and Imperialists means your economy early is *huge*. Getting and maintaining neutral alignment, combined with the extra gold and the speed with which we should be able to drop in research post SPIs means if Zombie and Garacian don't strike *soon* we should be able to spike our research while hopefully having the cash necessary to keep developing our military. As this is a 2v2, sacrificing long-term growth for short-term power is actually a viable strategy, so the question now just boils down to this- do we have the resources, and the time, for the power of Imperialists to keep our team afloat until our research can take over?
