"The Hangover Part II" (2011) directed by Todd Phillips starts off well enough but quickly turns illogical and stupid, even more so than the previous one. It's still an easy watch that is funny and enjoyable though.

Stu (Ed Helms) is getting married to a new woman and their wedding is in Thailand. Stu doesn't want a repeat of what happened last time so he has chosen to keep his bachelor party very small and vanilla. Stu reluctantly agrees to invite Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and they plan to have one single drink at a little bonfire gathering before the wedding day. As expected, our Wolf Pack wakes up with no recollection of what happened last night and one of them has gone missing again.

The Hangover 2 has some pretty funny jokes in it that made me audibly laugh out loud more than one time, which is rare for me as I am quite stoic. My sense of humor is usually off beat and this film is right up that alley, nothing about it is politically correct whatsoever and I appreciated that angle. Stu's Mike Tyson tattoo really leaves an impression on you when you first see it and it was one of my favorite things in the whole movie. The bride's father was the most funny of everyone here and I wanted to give him a special mention.

I'm okay with stupid and over the top in a film like this, but it was so illogical that it kind of took me out of it a few times. The undercover INTERPOL agent character makes no sense whatsoever, I highly doubt they would leverage the kidnapping of a minor to further along their task, and this entire section of the film failed because none of the Wolf Pack ever ask to see proof of Teddy (Mason Lee) before or during making the exchange. This agent character was so bewildering actually that I would consider it "cheating" to throw the audience off, as for example, the agent demanding Alan leave his hat behind at the table is the kind of thing only an evil person would do, but in reality he's not evil at all and that scene is completely illogical and designed to throw off the audience which I don't like or agree with as far as storytelling tactics go. Two more illogical characters were Doug (Justin Bartha) barely staying in contact with the group whatsoever (I believe he makes two total phone calls in the span of 48 hours of this emergency situation), and I also had a very hard time believing Stu and his wife get a traditional happy ending after everything has occurred, in reality Stu is a cheater whom can not be trusted, and it's very weird that's she's ready to accept this dark side of him.

The Hangover 2 is an incompetent film story and character-wise but it's a funny and effective comedy. It's actually not quite as bad as I remembered it being when I watched it years ago.
