Finally. A map I actually enjoyed. Ballystx is actually a decent map with a cool ending if I make it out of a dark cave. I liked it. Especially while I had the new Digital Circus playing in the background. Damn satisfying.

Mount Pain is actually pretty bad imo. A barely designed sewer section that must've been a snoozefest to draw out and a large backdoor area with the annoying demons I hate. Chaingunners and Last Souls. Lovely. Good thing I found a few secrets and learned to not kill every monster I see. Just end the maps quickly. I'm no crazy hundred-percenter.

Heck. Funny amateur name but it's a decent homage to one of Sandy Petersen's decent design philosophy that isn't divisive. It was cool in PSX Doom as well.

Map 29 is alright. Plays more like a Doom 1 map than anything during and after Doom II.

Last map, like before with Plutonia I had to save. This time it's because of the torch platforms since I have a pretty icky memory. But after like 2 or 3 tries I finally made it and I was able to wipe the demon spitter out and end this nightmare. Hence, I am finally done with Final Doom.

I can conclude that TNT, while not torturous as Plutonia, does not mean it's any better. I can see why people think it's boring and unappealing. I especially hate some of the texture choices. Too ugly and doesn't match the rest of the textures from Doom 1 and 2. Like it's sick twin, TNT has a chaingunner obsession I despise. Unlike that though, this took 20+ people to put these maps together and I really wish some quality control was involved to prevent shit like Habitat and Administration Center from getting blindly approved by ID to release. While there are a few levels I liked, it doesn't fix the many issues TNT has.

And honestly in 1996, you're better off playing Duke Nukem 3D. A game that came 5 months prior to this expansion.
I may have been relentlessly harsh on Final Doom but I cannot deny it's place in history and the careers this expansion launched for some of the developers. Without this expansion we probably wouldn't have Half Life. Or not in the exact same way. Not to mention standards for Doom wads were really low in 96. It's a product that didn't really age well as time went on. With this video out now, I can now put this chapter in Doom history to a close and leave this painful journey behind me.
