Narc (Arcade) CO-OP Playthrough/They are the only cure that can end this disease eating up the city.
Narc (1988) by Williams Electronics is a totally insane 2D shooter that doesn't even try to be deferential to certain social groups. The whole game is a no-holds-barred ride with an intense focus on crime and drug plots. It's a strange world where morality doesn't exist and entire cities are full of drug dealers, psychopaths, pimps and working women. The two protagonists are a literal allegory of the only drug that can conquer the disease that plagues the world today. No one will be forgiven here, you either give up or simply die. The premise and the general outline of the created world is even interesting, but unfortunately the game is terrible shit. A year earlier Contra came out on Arcade, so there is no excuse here. It's not fun to play, and the overall design has not been implemented very well. Our job is to get from point A to point B , and to do that you have to find mostly access cards to open doors to the next areas. Along the way, literally hordes of drug addicts, dealers, etc. are thrown at us. The premise is very simple, but it's boring for a long while, which is why it's one of those games that we were personally bored with and couldn't wait until it was finally over. Shooting is not pleasant and this is due to the introduction of the crouching system.... where it's best to walk around crouching all the time, because that way you'll avoid the most damage. And you don't just walk on one plane like in Contra, you can walk up and down, which makes this mechanic simply unnecessary. The only thing I liked was shooting with rockets..... you have to admit that the explosions dismembered enemies in an impressive way. Graphically it's not bad, but the areas where we move around unfortunately look ugly and boring. It's hard to say anything about the music :P it's there, but it didn't impress at all. It's not a good game and I don't recommend it in general, but you can play it to have a laugh.
