Harleep’s New Hidden Vulnerability
First up is Harleep’s new hidden vulnerability. In Patch 7 Larian has updated Protection from Evil and Good to now completely protect against Incubus Charm, which is used exclusively by Harleep! The spell requires concentration, but while it is on, Harleep cannot use Incubus Charm on anyone with this spell. This makes the Harleep fight extremely easy, since your teammates being charmed was the biggest threat.
Clerics, Warlocks, and Wizards get the spell at level 1, Paladins at level 2, and you can also get it from the Ever-Seeing Eye in the Hag’s Lair in Act 1, and of course a scroll of it works just as well.
How to Summon a Gondian Steel Watcher
And next up is how to get the Gondian Steel Watcher to join you! This incredible machine has a number of powerful abilities, including abilities a normal steel watcher wouldn’t have. The first of which is Reprimand - a literal uppercut which deals 9-30 bludgeoning damage that knocks targets prone. It also has Reposition Malefactor, which is a grappling hook that pulls enemies to you, which also deals 3d8 bludgeoning damage. And as a bonus action it can use Seeker Matrix, which allows it to see Invisible creatures and possibly reveal them to others. And in addition to all that it also has its regular attack which we all know and love which deals 7-40 slashing damage and can knock a target prone and cause Maim which makes the target immobile for 2 turns. It also has the same health points as a typical steel watcher, and when that HP is reduced sufficiently, like your typical steel watcher it will begin its self-destruct sequence dealing massive damage upon completion. To get the Gondian Steel Watcher under your command you need to complete the quest Save the Gondians, however, based on my testing you actually need to save ALL the Gondians. If you don’t save them all, Zanner Toobin will actually be happy you saved those you did, but will complain that there are so few of them that remain, and you won’t have the Godian Steel Watcher at your disposal. So if you want it, make sure to save them all!
How to Summon Mahkloompah’s Army
And next up is how to summon Mahkloompah’s army! Mahkloompah’s army consists of 7 allies - one champion of mahkloompah, which will smite enemies, dealing significant damage, 4 Proselytes of mahkloompah, and 2 devotees of mahkloompah. The champion and devotees are actually sahwaggins which are strong, but the proselytes are kuo-toa - mainly good for your enemies to get a good fish fry going.
To be able to summon mahkloompah’s army, In Act 1 within the Festering Cove of the Underdark you can find a group of Kuo-Toa worshiping BOOOAL. If you choose the Investigate option to understand what’s going on, you can discover BOOOAL is nothing more than a common Redcap. If you then choose the Performance dialogue option, you can trick the Redcap into losing his disguise. Once revealed, if you choose the dialogue option that you will kill him and claim the power for yourself, combat between just you and BOOOAL will commence. If you defeat him, the Kuo-Toa will name you their god, and give you your true name - MAHKLOOMPAH. They will ask what is your first commandment, and if you tell them to go out and build you an army they in fact will, and you can summon them in the final fight.
