Video game developers today have the world at their fingertips: high resolution graphics, budgets on par with Hollywood movies, and enough processing power to render entire galaxies. But even just a few years ago, people in the industry weren’t so lucky, and sometimes they had to workout a hypothetical trolley problemwhen it came to important features and having to sacrifice them due to the constraints of the medium. There’s no problem that can’t be solved with enough creativity, however, and with a bit of clever thinking those game devs in the old days could pull off some truly miraculous feats of programming that seem to made the impossible possible, and oftentimes sacrificing one thing ended up giving them other greatthings in exchange.
