A great video game compilation is a lot like the best mixtapes - you've gotta have your greatest hits on one, but you also need a different tape to include some deep cuts to show how vast your music collection is. It's the same with video game compilations - you can roll out the greatest hits like Mario 3D All-Stars, but then you've got things like the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection which brings in some truly forgotten classics.

I LOVE compilations. I've been buying them since the days of the Genesis, and we are truly spoiled with abundance on the Switch. These are 14 of my personal favorites - though don't think this is even close to being all-encompassing! There's a pile of great collections out there to collect!
