Recently I've been playing three indie games; Maximum Action, Katana Zero and God's Trigger. Each of them bring their own retro, violent and janky style and aesthetic while also aping gameplay mechanics of Hotline Miami that is wholly enjoyable. While they're flawed, short and lack proper originality, they're still worth checking out for curious players.
