Lor San Tekka was never mentioned by-name in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but his impact was deep for Star Wars fandom. He appears to be one of the first on-screen characters in the movies that may not be Force-sensitive but quite aware that more than just Jedi and Sith can use the Force. He is a believer that there is balance in the Force, but that the light side of the Force must eventually (if not always) triumph over the dark side of the Force in the Star Wars galaxy. Lor San Tekka leads a "Church of the Force" on Jakku, possibly keeping an eye on Rey - and certainly aware of the Skywalker family (from Luke to Leia to Ben). He is key to putting "The Force Awakens" story in motion, handing a piece of the map to Skywalker directly to Poe (on request from Princess Leia, now also known as General Leia). Lor San Tekka's story is begging to be played out in another form of media, possibly a comic book or a novel.
