Hello and thank you for clicking! Switching it up from my usual science and physics videos. Want to explore a little more of what it is to be an engineer or a scientist in real world industry.

In this video I go over a few things I wish I had known when I started my career. I hope to pass on some of my learnings working in science (Physics) and engineering (Manufacturing) over the last couple of decades. I am trained as a physicist, but have worked in 24/7 tech manufacturing as a process engineer (semiconductors and medical devices) for the last ten years. Engineers are trained in technical manners, but sometimes might lack some training in the soft skills necessary to survive in a modern work place, so here's my attempt to help on that end.

My expertise is in data analysis, and manufacturing equipment engineering. My academic training is in Physics and Mathematics

I elaborate more, but here are the bullet points I make in the video:
1 - Do your research on the company before the interview
2 - Sell yourself
3- Attitude, and love for learning go a long way
4 - You can do everything right and still fail
5 - Prepare questions for the interviewers
6 - Apply directly to the employer
7 - Value yourself

My opinions are my own, and I hope it might help someone in navigating the job application process. Adapting to a career and work culture can be difficult for some people, we're not all set up for success. So I think it's important to share our experiences with empathy with hopes that it might be able to help someone else out.

Video will have some lego and ukiyo-e style pictures made with midjourney, to liven up the visuals of the video some.
