In this video I am controlling the inputs for 8 different consoles with my voice through Alexa. To achieve this the following things are needed:
1 - 2 or more sources (could be consoles, DVD player, FireTV, etc.)
2 - Amazon account with Alexa Echo Dot or similar (Google Assistant also works)
3 - A Broadlink or similar interface for programming and controlling the remote signals
4 - WIFI access point in the room with 2.5Ghz (5G won't always work)
5 - Cell phone with the Broadlink and Alexa apps to do the programming
*6 - (Optional) - An A/V receiver with remote and enough inputs for each console connected and output to TV (optional if your TV has enough inputs and good enough audio)
If more inputs are needed, an HDMI, component and/or composite switcher with remote control functionality works. In my setup, I added a 4x1 Component switcher and a 4x1 composite switcher. My receiver handles the HDMI inputs.
Programming all this to work correctly took a lot of time, but it's worth it in the long run and will eliminate lots of remote controls and batteries.
