A Long Term Save with Randomness - The FIFA 23 Sir Alex Ferguson Challenge!
455Today we’re trying to recreate the career of one of the greatest managers of all time, but compared to some other saves you can have some randomness! I’d recommend this challenge is done in the Premier League, but you can easily modify it to be Bundesliga or La Liga.
So, here is how you go about the Alex Ferguson challenge.
Path 1
Start at a lower scottish club- st mirren ross county dundee united etc
Build a good team with a focus on youth
Move to a club just outside the old firm (Hibs Aberdeen Hearts)
Win the scottish cup then either europa or conference with them and break the old firm dominance (cup winners cup doesnt exist so…)
In the end move to an underperforming mid table club in your save, establish a dynasty and win everything
Path 2
Sir Alex took over Man Utd on Nov 6th 1986, so you will take over random team who are expected to finish high in the league. Simulate until the start of november and offer a random bad player a release clause of £1. This will get yourself fired, and you’ll have the chance to take over a couple of bad teams usually in the same league.
You’ll be taking over the team thats in 17th place.
The first challenge is to save the club from relegation and then to emulate Sir Alex’s achievements.
Here is a list of what he has achieved with Man Utd;
Win a domestic cup within 4 seasons - Ferguson won his first cup vs Crystal Palace in 89/90.
Win a league title within 7 seasons - Ferguson won his first title in 92/93.
Win a league and cup double within 8 seasons - Ferguson won his first double with United in 93-94.
Win a league, cup and Champions League within 13 seasons- Ferguson won the infamous treble in 98/99

Promote as many youth players as you can and have a minimum of 1 player promoted from the youth academy in every single matchday squad. (Giggs, Beckham, Neville, Scholes were all part of the youth system and went on to become legends at the club)
No buying or selling from/to your direct rival.
Promote at least 1 new player to the youth academy to the senior team every single season.
