A MESSAGE TO THE SCAMMERS CLAIMING TO BE ME
39,601QUICK PSA: I've had a few people message me to say that someone is pretending to be me on Discord and TikTok. I am not on Discord OR TikTok! Unfortunately, scammers are more and more likely to use "approachable" parasocial celebrities in order to take advantage of you. Be cautious of anyone claiming to be someone that you admire on the internet. It's easy to tell it's a scam if "George Clooney" slides into my DMs (even though I really hope he does), but it's much harder to catch if the scammer is claiming to be a niche internet microceleb. So here's my (somewhat harsh) promise: I will never DM you. Heck, I barely text my own friends! Sorry about that, real-life friends. Please please please be wary of scammers on the internet, especially as AI becomes more prevalent. Stay safe out there!
