5 years since release in May 2019, A Plague Tale Innocence is still a wonderful game. Even with a small budget, Asobo Studio managed to write a compelling story with a lot of heart and charm. It strikes the right balance between being grim and tender-hearted. Characters are likable, well-written, and believable. And the rats are phenomenal, contributing to engaging and tense gameplay mechanics. It’s proof that you don’t need a AAA budget to make a great game.
