A Twist on Southern Hospitality | South of Midnight Trailer Reaction
2South of Midnight from Compulsion Games illustrates a twist on southern hospitality. After watching the South of Midnight reveal trailer from the Xbox Games Showcase 2023, I’m very excited to get my hands on this game. At first, the art direction used throughout the trailer appeared to have a studdering effect, and after some research, it seems like this effect is something that Compulsion Games is using throughout the game. The effect was distracting at first, but it is something I can see enjoying after getting used to it. What I’m really looking forward to is the setting of the game. The atmosphere the deep south provides is something I’ve never experienced in a video game, nor the mythological folklore, and I am very much looking forward to exploring the culture. South of Midnight currently does not have a release window or date, leading me to believe it is slated for a 2025 release; however, the game will release on Game Pass when it drops. I hope you enjoy this trailer as much as I did!
