Well howdy y'all. Welcome back down here to the Batman Blahs. I was gonna say Batman Blathers but like.. Book Blathers is already a thing, and I can't very well go steal EVERY idea my man does now can I? Yeah didn't think so.. So anyway. Today we're talking about something that I realized (again) about myself tonight.
Motivation. It's hard to get, and even harder to keep. Sometimes the drive to do literally ANYTHING or even care about things can be fleeting. There's a lot of "but why though?" or "why should I bother?" thoughts that tend to roll around in my noggin. When these feelings arise, I find that it's usually brought on by insecurities. Feeling inadequate in comparison to others. I don't think that what I do and what I enjoy are interesting to others, so I stop seeing the point in doing and sharing them. I've come to realize that this kind of thinking is flawed. Not because people DO care about what I like or what I do or the types of content that I present.. But because "I" should care about what I do, what I'm presenting, and genuinely enjoy the things that I do.
I've fallen into the trap of doing content and things in general for the sake of other's enjoyment rather than simply because I want to do them. This series itself was started purely with Almighty Nick in mind, because I know he loves Batman and would probably enjoy me playing it. Which is why I'm doing.. this blathering blah thing down here. I do enjoy playing this game and it's WAY more fun than I expected, but it's not ME you know? This. This is me. I overthink, I explain things poorly, and I dislike a decent amount of things about myself that I see needing "fixed" or at least combatted in some way. And so.. my chosen combat method is this.. weirdly public diary entry of sorts that none of y'all are reading anyway. But ya know what.. it makes me happy to get things off my chest and just kinda.. vent. Show my feelings at this current moment. Which actually reminds me, it's after 10 pm already so I really should save this description and schedule this darn thing for 3 a.m. before I go get ready for bed..
*sigh* Anyway.. thanks for reading along if you have been. And also thanks for being my motivation. My whole point to this thing was that.. and I got sidetracked with things. SHOCKER! bleh.. anyway point is.. I'm not motivated to do things for myself, but for you guys. Until I can find the enjoyment of Joy again and.. I don't know come up with some passion project series or something, y'all are what keep me going. From this for Nick, to Monolocke for Troll.. to even my silly little Crash video for Codename. I make my content with specific people in mind, and I love what I do. So thanks for supporting everything, and keep being amazing!
