We begin at the Coyote Mines, which we have a little look round for the first time ever. There's a little surprise waiting for us at the deepest point. Next up we travel to Lucky Jim Mine, where we join in a Legion vs Fire Gecko conflict, and then pop into the house for a speech skill book.

Now the Brotherhood of Steel need us to go to Vault 3, so I take this opportunity to work on the Great Khan quest "Aba Daba Honeymoon" so that I can kill two birds with one stone. First up we must liberate Anders from Cottonwood Cove. He's been tied up on that cross since episode 21 - about 2 months of in-game time! Next we deliver a mildly suspicious-looking package to Don Hostetler at the Crimson Caravan Company. After that, we're given a highly suspicious-looking package, which is our ticket into Vault 3.

Getting to Vault 3 requires fighting our way through the fiends' home turf, and we whip out the Ratslayer for a bit of sneaky sniping fun. Dog lovers may want to look away at this point.

Finally, as we approach the vault door, Veronica takes us to one side for a quiet word. Looks like her companion quest has been triggered!

In the next episode, we'll be inside vault 3 proper. We'll go in all friendly-like, playing it Bogart, so to speak. But it's always difficult to resist a righteous fiend-slaying crusade in that place. Let's see how things pan out.
