ATG is in my opinion the best procedurally generated war-game (in the purest definition) ever made. It is one of the first games I install on new computers because the random maps always lead to different strategic choices.
This is version 2.21s and we are playing the New Dawn random map which brings a whole range of new options and gameplay.

In this series we will be really covering how to play the game. The play-through covers a wide range of game mechanics. The game is largely about managing your supply and resources which sounds dry but really makes the game super strategic. The AI is also impressive. Even though it does get some bonuses it still makes some very good strategic decisions - it keeps me on my toes in this series!
ATG now has a Tables of Organisation and Equipment modelling mechanic that dramatically reduces the micromanagement of your forces.
