Alien: Isolation: The first 10 minutes aboard Sevastopol | AMD Crimson 4k VSR on 1080p | RX 480 8GB
The first 10 minutes aboard the Sevastopol space station in Alien: Isolation, downsampled from 4k using AMD VSR (Virtual Super Resolution) and recorded with AMD ReLive; part of the AMD Crimson driver package using a reference Radeon RX 480 8gb.
I was using a DS4 controller via DS4Windows which emulates the MS 360 controller allowing you to use your PS4 controller in a lot of PC games. http://ds4windows.com/
Those of you with an attention to detail will notice that my RX 480 is throttling slightly in this game, I later fixed this by slightly undervolting the GPU. I may do a little video on how I fixed this, although there's already plenty of guides on YouTube.
In 2137, 15 years after the disappearance of the Nostromo spacecraft, Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen Ripley, is approached by the android Christopher Samuels of the Weyland-Yutani corporation. Samuels informs her that the flight recorder of the Nostromo was recently located by a ship named the Anesidora and is being held aboard Sevastopol, a remote space station owned by the Seegson Corporation, in orbit around the gas giant KG348. He offers her a place on the Weyland-Yutani team sent to retrieve it so that she can have closure regarding the fate of her missing mother. Ripley, Samuels, and Weyland-Yutani executive Nina Taylor travel to Sevastopol on board the courier ship Torrens, owned by captain Diane Verlaine. The group arrives at Sevastopol to find the station damaged and its communications offline. Ripley, Samuels, and Taylor attempt to spacewalk over to the station to investigate, but their EVA line is severed by debris, and Ripley is separated from them and forced to enter the station on her own.
AMD "Get quality that rivals up to 4K, even on a 1080p display while playing your favorite games.
Super Sampling Anti-Aliasing (SSAA) is one of many methods of anti-aliasing to enable smoother textures and less jaggy polygons in games, but is not supported by all games and engines. Virtual Super Resolution (VSR) is an AMD feature that is game and engine agnostic to simulate SSAA in games that do not have native SSAA support. VSR can also be used in conjunction with other native in-game anti-aliasing for even more game graphics-setting control.
VSR allows games to render at higher resolutions (up to 4K; see the ‘Virtual Super Resolution Support’ table, below) and then rescales them down to a lower native display resolution. Using this, you can get quality that rivals up to 4K, even on a 1080p display while playing your favorite games.
One of the coolest aspects of this technology is that the performance is no different than if you were running on a normal 4K monitor. Virtually nothing is lost in the scaling of the image. You just end up with amazing visual quality on a 1080p monitor, with the same FPS you would achieve with a regular 4K monitor. See below for performance comparisons."
If you're a fan of the first person shooter genre and like Battlefield, Call of Duty, Overwatch or FPS games in general; you found the right place!
I mainly post Battlefield 4, CoD and Overwatch montages, clips and gameplays! I play on the PlayStation 4 (and sometimes PC) and branch out into other first person shooter and racing games from time to time also.
