I have played this on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in the past. I did just play through (off stream) the intro area to test controls and such.

This is the Steam version /w the GOG patch applied

GOG version is supposed to support Dualsense/Shock controllers. From what I hear, people who bought that version are needing to setup AP from GOG as a non-steam game to get Sony controllers to work properly. That sucks.

Using this patch, I could NOT get my Dualshock 4 using the official USB dongle to work at all without using the Steam overlay. In fact, it would cause the controllers' light bar to go off. With the Steam overlay, it worked, but all the contextual button presses are stuck on Xbox in-game.

That being said, I went with a wireless Xbox 360 controller and it works, except when it comes to walking. For some reason, the game wants to auto-walk with slight nudges of the left thumstick. It's really hit or miss, but can be annoying when you are trying to line up shots, hence my performance on the shooting range. I just used this controller with Protocol and other games with no issues, so I know it's not stick drift.

Maybe the actual GOG version doesn't have this auto-walking issue, but it's not a deal breaker to enjoy the game thankfully. Short of that, it runs perfectly.
