What many of those gamers might not realize is that the first entry into the series didn't start on the GameCube, but rather the Nintendo 64 as Animal Forest (Dōbutsu no Mori). This retro review and retrospective takes a look at the gameplay, technical side of things, differences between the GCN and N64 versions and provides some fun anecdotes about Japan and how it relates to Animal Crossing.
