CONTEST DETAILS:
Your design will need to be in a high-resolution digital format--PNG with a transparent background if the image isn't one large rectangle. Hand-drawn entries will not be accepted. If your design is chosen, I'll get in touch with you about getting a full-sized copy, as I know Twitter downscales images. Upon winning we will negotiate a flat rate, and you'll agree to release the rights of the design to me to do with as I please--including, of course, selling merchandise that features the design. No additional royalties after the initial fee will be given out for sales of these products. You will however be able to continue to use your design for your portfolio or whatever you want--the only exception, of course, being selling your own merchandise featuring the design, as it features me, which as a brand naturally belongs to me. You will always be credited as the artist of your design, including in product descriptions when possible.
[UPDATE] Allusions to Nintendo characters/games/products are okay, but for copyright reasons you'll need to avoid direct depictions. For example, having me dressed as Link is probably okay, but having Link himself on the shirt isn't.
