The protagonist Arno Dorian has uncovered a hidden room beneath the Temple that contains a message from his father, who was also an Assassin. The message reveals the location of a Piece of Eden, a powerful artifact that the Assassins have been seeking for centuries.
Arno travels to the location with his ally Napoleon Bonaparte, but they are ambushed by the Templars. Arno fights his way through the Templar guards to reach the Piece of Eden, but discovers that it has been moved. He and Napoleon are then captured by the Templars and taken to a remote location, where Arno finally confronts the Grand Master of the Templars, François-Thomas Germain. The memory ends on a cliffhanger as Arno prepares to engage in a final battle against Germain.
