AT&T GigaPower and Youtube throttling My Experience
22Over the last few months, during the day (especially in the afternoon and sometimes in the early morning) I find that while watching youtube on my AT&T Gigapower service a horrible experience. Constant buffering until I reduce playback to 480p.
These slow downs happen during non peak times and ONLY appear to impact my direct connection to the AT&T network. When I use my work VPN (connecting via San Jose) I suffer from no slow downs, buffering of forced reductions in resolution.
The video above spotlights this issue very well. Using AT&T's speed test tool you can clearly see that I have AMPLE bandwidth to stream watch a live 1080p video. However, I'm unable to....
You can see that while watching on the VPN (which encrypts the data from the ISP) there are no issues and historically, I have never had any instance of buffering. My laptop is using WIFI as well, while my desktop is using Cat6e directly from the wall.
