In the aftermath of the bombshell release of Call Of Duty 4, Activision, now eating it's own words after Infinity Ward gave them the biggest 'I told you so' of the decade, still had one thing to settle.

Treyarch was still here doing nothing of any importance after massively cocking up Call of Duty 3.

I suppose after Modern Warfare turned the room upsidedown nobody really knew what to do anymore, what was right, what was wrong, what was wrong, what the next call of duty game should be. They knew they still had an audience for WWII games, that's what they've been doing for almost a decade now so why not make another one?

So I guess World at War is the logical end when you just let someone do whatever, the manifestation of a night of hot and confused teenage intercourse in the form of world war II game. Nobody knows what's going on anymore, but at the time it just felt so 'right' and nobody cares about showing any restraint because they don't know the rules anyway! VIOLENCE! MURDER! EXPLOSIONS! GORE! FLAMETHROWERS! SCREAMING! VICTOR RESNOV!

This couldn't be bad, right? This couldn't have been where everything started to go wrong. Right?
