This felt like it ended up as a better idea in my head. Usually, the games with simple artstyles become quite difficult to translate into a "photoshoot" for Dee, but I had an idea for Baba is You quite early on. I wanted to lean into a more "cutesy" thumbnail which you can see in some of the early sketches where Dee looks like a cuteified version of herself. I did consider implementing the Baba Make Level hardhat in but ultimately I think it would've made it look a little strange.

The difficulty came in when deciding how to colour it. Since Baba is You is lineless I also tried to do it lineless initially. But since there's no shading, it all became a large blob so I ended up having to add a lot of lines to show the different shapes. At which point, I decided I might as well just do the lineart for the whole thing. I was also a little split on whether I should stick with the cutesy version of Dee or not but decided against it because it didn't really look like her.
