Arioso by J.S. Bach, arranged for string quartet by Alison Gillies.

Entitled, Ich steh mit einem Fuß im Grabe (I am standing with one foot in the grave), BWV 156 is a church cantata that Bach composed in Leipzig for the third Sunday after Epiphany. The cantata is well known for its opening sinfonia for oboe solo, strings and continuo, which has been transposed into G major for this string quartet arrangement.

A beautiful, reflective piece that is perfect for religious ceremonies, weddings and funerals alike.
