Bajaj Pulsar N160 Highlights
We spent a day with the new Pulsar N160, and here’s what we liked and disliked about the bike.
The Bajaj Pulsar N160 has been launched. Available in two variants, here’s what else the newest Pulsar gets.
We compared the Pulsar N160 to the Pulsar NS160 and there are some subtle but major differences between the two 160cc bikes from Bajaj.
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Price
The Bajaj Pulsar N160 is launched at a price of Rs 1,22,854 for the single-channel ABS variant and Rs 1,27,853 for the dual-channel one (ex-showroom Delhi).
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Features
The instrument cluster is the same as the one seen on the N250. The analogue pod houses the tachometer, whereas the LCD screen packs the speedometer, trip meter, fuel level readout, gear position indicator, and time. Apart from an all-LED illumination, you also get a USB charging port.
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Engine
The Pulsar N160 features a new 164.8cc, single-cylinder, air-oil-cooled engine churning out 16PS and 14.65Nm, 1.2PS less but 0.05Nm more than the NS160. That said, it also makes 1.55PS and 0.08Nm less than the segment leader, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Suspension & Brakes
The Pulsar N160 employs the Pulsar N250's frame, and also gets the telescopic fork and monoshock setup as its older sibling. That said, the telescopic fork for the dual-channel ABS variant is a 37mm unit, against the 31mm one on the single-channel variant.
Braking is managed by discs at both ends. You get a 300mm disc at the front for the dual-channel ABS variant while the single-channel one offers a 280mm disc. he bike now gets fatter tyres compared to the NS160 with a 100-section at the front and 130-section at the rear.
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Rivals
The Bajaj Pulsar N160 will rival the Hero Xtreme 160R, Yamaha FZ-S Fi V3, Honda XBlade, Suzuki Gixxer and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. Other alternatives for the same price bracket include the Aprilia SR 160, Vespa VXL 125 and the Ola S1 Pro.
