Glyph of Hope - use this whenever you are not using another glyph so you can try and save precious forging potential
Glyph of Chaos - use this to randomly change an undesirable affix to a different one. A prefix cannot change to a suffix and vice versa so the range of affixes will be a random prefix or a suffix depending on which one you choose
Glyph of Order - use this to STOP an items position within a roll range from changing when you upgarde an item. Best scenario is from a well rolled T4 affix going to a T5
Glyph of Despair - use this to seal a good or bad affix into the item, freeing up a 4th affix slot
Glyph of Insight - Currently in patch 0.9.2, we wouldn’t really use this unless the launch make this glyph or experimental affixes very good. Also the rune of research is much better if you want an experimental affix
Rune of Shattering and Removal - se this to get affix shards, especially class and rarer affixes such as Hybrid Health. Change your loot filter to include specific affixes you are trying to target
Rune of Refinement - use this to reroll a low rolled item
Rune of Shaping - use this on reroll implicits on an item. Implicits are the affixes above the prefix and suffix which are locked to the base item
Rune of Ascendence - use this to turn an item into a Unique. This will turn a common bow into a Unique bow or a spear into a Unique Spear.
Rune of Creation - use this duplicate an item. This is very rare.
Rune of Research - use this to seal an experimental affix on an item and free up that affix slot. Works much like a glyph of despair except its only for experimental affixes
To understand how crafting works in last epoch you first need to understand forging potential, and item rarities.
There is a slight amount of randomness to crafting so it's not overpowered but also does give you choice in choosing what affixes you want on a piece of gear. The randomness isn't all bad either, you have critical success and glyph of hope to protect you from losing forging potential allowing for more opportunities to improve stats and attributes on your gear.
