Batman: Caped Crusader - Why It WORKS
6When Batman: Caped Crusader was announced in 2021 during DC FanDome (yeah, remember those?), I was very interested in the project, especially after learning Bruce Timm would be attached. Remember, Timm is one of the fantastic minds that gave us the gold standard in animated Batman - The Animated series, which ran from 1992 thru 1995 - and carried those stories on in The New Batman Adventures, Batman Beyond, Justice League, and its spinoff, Justice League Unlimited. So, the trust in the style was already there, except this time with the Caped Crusader, we were promised a grittier take on the animated series. There would be more stakes for all the characters. The story would be told in a more mature manner.
